Everlasting is on the brink of total war.

As the terrorist organization known as Garden attempts to assassinate key members of the Leadership, another unseen hand has plans of its own...

Back at the human outpost, Mei Curie and her team are working to create the ultimate cure for the Variant gas. But with the war raging deep within the city, the shield could collapse at any moment, killing millions. Time is of the essence.

Meanwhile, Terry waits beneath Everlasting, having been rescued by Garden's forces. In an effort to repay this debt, he agrees to assist them in a dangerous task. With Lena Sol at his side, Terry sets out across the sea to a foreign land, seeking a prize that may very well end this conflict once and for all.

The final book is always bittersweet. Terry has come a long way since the little kid playing with his sister in his living room, excited about finally going off to school. Now he is living on Kant, another dimension of earth after being sucked through an explosion into a portal, and quite frankly, he's a badass! I love Terry! He is a genuinely good and kind soul, but still strong and will fight for what he loves and what is right. That man has honor oozing from him! Yah, I'm a fan.
Mei and John are working with Everlasting to find a cure for the variant, search for Terry, and help fight off a rogue terrorist group, but even Central feels some unease. Things are about to come to a head, and what an adventure it is! We have met characters throughout this series that are simply amazing, and they all come together here for an exciting and venturous conclusion. I truly hope this isn't the "end" end, and we will have some little stories here in there to fill us in on how all our friends are doing now. The ending was truly wonderful, and left you feeling satisfied, but I still have some stories I want to see played out, not inside my head. Wonderful series and a must read!

The Vernal Memory A Dystopian Scifi Novel The Variant Saga Book 4 eBook JN Chaney Reviews

Really enjoy this series by JN Chaney. He never fails to leave me intrigued and delighted by his writing. His characters are always well developed and I recommend this series to anyone who loves Sci-Fi.
I love this series. The characters work so well together. I was amazed that this was a new author. From the way everything flowed I felt that this was written by someone with a lot of years of experience.
I don't usually write reviews because most of what l read has been thoroughly reviewed already. Despite the occasional grammatical blips, this story has almost everything you could want from a 4-book series (no sex, though). Friends enduring a brutal training regimine, bonding, and then using that training to find and rescue a disturbed classmate. Then the portal!!! And that's just book 1. It just gets better after that. Thank you JN Chaney for a great series.
I've read all of the books in this series and enjoyed this book the most. The whole series is entertaining and well thought out.

What I liked specifically is that the story moves at a quick pace but not too fast. The plot twists are interesting and keep you turning the page. The book brings the series to a satisfying conclusion. Can't wait for more from JN Chaney!
The Vernal Memory J.N. Chaney

I loved this book! To be able to clearly draw you into an alien world like Mr. Chaney does is good writing! To flesh out the characters and make you believe them and have empathy with, theoretically, are not real people is amazing!
I am hoping there's another book soon, maybe even a Christmas book that explains a few more things as to what finally happens and how, if, the two worlds come together per se. But revisiting all the characters would be enough for me.
How one person is able to pull the wool over everyones eyes astounds me. Not that its not been done countless times here on Earth of course, but still. The Art of Deception is truly a vocation for some people.
Thus draws to a close the characters we've come to love since The Amber Project. Grown with them since they were 7 and being sent to school, and as teens being tossed out to the Wild World that was the surface of Earth.
Great book! J.N. Chaney has it down!
I discovered Mr. Chaney's books last year and was intrigued by the worlds he set his stories in as well as the characters. I read a lot and while I enjoy most of the stories I read many simply don't have the same level of writing skill that Mr. Chaney does. When I started reading "The Vernal Memory" I found it to be a refreshing contrast to some of the poor writing that I've read from other authors of late.

I had received an e-mail earlier this year from Mr. Chaney letting me know "The Vernal Memory" would be out this spring & I was excited to learn that & chose to wait on getting the book till it came out paperback. (If I like a book I read it over & over.) Mr. Chaney does a great job on tying together the various story lines together and brings the story to an enjoyable end - though leaving room for other potential stories in my opinion (maybe where they open doors to other worlds?)

Note for a dystopian novel/series it's not as dark as some I've read which I also like!

Mr. Chaney, sir I look forward to your next book!
Finally! Yes, finally we have the conclusion to this astounding series. I won't spoil anything, but I've been on edge (especially after seeing a cover that didn't look very HEA) wondering if Terry would ever make it home, or at least meet up with John and Mei because he's always been so close, but so far away. But enough of that, I'm not going to give anything away, except to say that I was very surprised at how the book ended and it really wasn't what I had been expecting, which of course is the mark of a good writer.

This book is full of action, confusing politics, lies, and danger (of course danger, because danger is everywhere on Kant!). The new enemy they encounter this time is even scarier than the guardians from the previous book! I don't know how Chaney comes up with stuff like this, but it's genius!

I'm excited to see what he has in store next because whatever it is, it will be fantastic!
The final book is always bittersweet. Terry has come a long way since the little kid playing with his sister in his living room, excited about finally going off to school.
